Preparation
Introduction:
The classic Italian pasta dish with a rich meaty tomato sauce, makes a satisfying and well-loved meal for the entire family.
Steps Involved:
For the Sauce :
In a flat-bottomed pan, heat the Noor Oil and lightly brown the chopped bacon.
Add onions, carrots and chopped celery and cook until the veggies are soft.
Add ground beef and stir until it is browned well. This will take approximately 8 minutes.
Add tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, water, milk, bay leaf, dried herbs and simmer for about an hour stirring occasionally.
The sauce can be frozen in the refrigerator for up to 1 month and can be used whenever required.
For the Pasta:
Bring to boil 1 pot of water with 1 tbsp salt. Cook the spaghetti as per instructions on the packet.
Drain the spaghetti and reserve some of the pasta water.
Warm 300 gms of Bolognese sauce (made earlier) in a saucepan.
Set aside around 1-2 ladles of this sauce and to the pan add the cooked spaghetti.
Add a little of the reserved pasta water; 1 tbsp at a time, to bind the pasta and the sauce together. Season with salt and pepper.
Suggestion:
Spoon out the pasta on a serving dish, top with reserved sauce and shredded parmesan and serve hot.
