Ingredients

½ cup butter

cups caster sugar (icing sugar)

2 eggs

cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla essence

1 cup buttermilk

2 tbsp red coloring

1 tsp vinegar

1 tsp baking soda

8 inch round baking tray

Preparation

Introduction:

When done well, Red Velvet Cakes are moist and luscious. Here’s a simple recipe that will enable you to produce the desired effect!

Steps Involved:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream the butter and sugar well and add the egg. 

Fold the buttermilk and color into this.

Sieve the flour, cocoa powder and salt well till it is all mixed well.

Fold the flour into the above mixture.

Mix baking soda and vinegar and fold this into the above cake mixture.

Pour into the prepared baking tray and bake for around 30 minutes or till done.
