Qatayef or Kataeef are mouth-watering desserts, normally served widely during Ramadan.
Soak the cheese for 2 hours to remove salt. Finely grate the cheese and keep aside.
Stuff qatayef slices with grated cheese using your fingers to close it firmly.
Deep fry the qatayef, dip them in sugar syrup and arrange them neatly on a platter for serving.
To prepare sugar syrup dissolve sugar in water and let it boil for several minutes.
