3 big potatoes (boiled and mashed)

4 tbsp butter

1 cup  milk or chicken stock

1 onion (diced)

½ kg beef (ground)

2 carrots (diced)

1 cup  green peas (frozen)

1 cup  shredded cheddar cheese

4 tbsp Noor Oil

Salt to taste

Freshly (ground) pepper



An all-time English favourite that is essentially a casserole with cooked meat and vegetables, topped with mashed potato.

Steps Involved:

Preheat the oven to 400˚F

In a pan, heat Noor Oil on medium heat, add onions and sauté for a few minutes till the onions are browned slightly. Add the carrots and cook for 5 minutes. Then add ground beef and let it cook well. Check seasoning with salt and pepper. When the meat is cooked, add frozen peas and cook for 2 minutes. Mix well and season again if necessary.

In a bowl, mix the potato, chicken stock or milk and shredded cheese well. Add salt and pepper. Add more butter and milk to make it soft.

Take an oven proof casserole dish, add the meat mixture and top it with the potato mixture. Sprinkle on top with cheese and bake in the oven till it browns beautifully. This should take around 30 minutes to be done. Serve hot!
