300 gms rice (short grain)

800-900 ml Fish or vegetable stock (preferably homemade)

300 gms  shrimps

5 ripe tomatoes (cut into small cubes)

2 onions (finely chopped)

2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)

2 tsp coriander

2 tsp soy sauce

Noor Oil



This type of rice dish is very common in Levant Spain, the same part of Spain where paella originates! The main difference is that paella is dry rice, and this recipe is a wet rice preparation.

This recipe uses shrimp, but you can create your own vegetarian recipe as well. Adding coriander provides a delicious freshness to the dish.

Steps Involved:

Sauté the onion with some Noor Oil in a pot at a medium to low heat for around 10 minutes or until it turns transparent. Add the garlic, tomatoes along with the soy sauce and let them cook for a couple of minutes.

Add the rice and season. Stir well, pour the stock and let it cook for 15 minutes. Toss in the shrimps and cook for 3 more minutes.

Serve the rice immediately with some fresh chopped coriander. Enjoy!


The shrimps can be replaced with chicken or vegetables.
